You'd have to carry some dead weight in the other end to balance it out. As well, having that weight on top of the kayak will reduce the stability. I can tell you that the size, weight and breed of a dog will be a lot less important than its temperment and personality. Some dogs will sit still for a ride; others will always be jumping onto the water and trying to get back on. I know folks that have no problem with their dog in a canoe and others that have nothing but problems and leave the dog at home. Expect to have to train your dog to behave on the kayak. Mike |
