Default Yamaha Outboard Factory in the USA

As you can see from their volume, 320,000, that the outboard industry

is
very small compared to other businesses.

Wow, Bill. Only 320,00 *total* units. How many 225 four-strokes are

sold
in
a year?

Out of that 320,000, the news release stated that around 40% are sold in

the
US, so that would be around 128,000 units of all ratings from 2hp to

300hp.
The 200-225 would be a small percentage of that.

So the company has to apply a huge R&D cost on that new four-stroke to maybe
only 20,000 engines per year? No wonder they're so expensive.
