Keeping a good coat of wax on it will make it much easier to remove scuffs
and dock rubs, and will probably provide a measure of protection from
oxidation. If you haven't gotten any dock bumpers, get 2 or 3 now before a
dock takes a few bites out of your hull. Congrats on the new boat.

So I got my new 2005 Bayliner 175 Capri tonight,
and actually dumped it in the lake tonight, (whew!)
So the question I have is - can I wax this thing with
regular car wax? (or even something for basecoat/clearcoat)
Olympic did a very nice job cleaning it up for me when
I picked it up, and I was pretty impressed with it all.
However it seems too clean - squeaky clean. So clean
that every little scuff leaves a mark. Seems like it needs
a wax job. So is this doable? How soon, and what kind
of wax ?
Thanks !
