I am considering a new Lund WC-16 (their low end boat), using a 15hp
Yamaha. I will be using it on a small bay for crabbing, and general use. I
would like to have this boat around for a few years and am concerned about
it durability. The boat is rated for a max of 25hp and weighs in the
neighborhood of 270 lbs. I know Lund has a great reputation, but this is
their low-end model. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

The WC series are bottom of the line only in terms of features and creature
comforts, not construction.

I have a 5 year old WC-14 yacht with 15 hp 4-stroke. When Lund says these
boats are regularly dropped from guide planes onto lakes (empty & without
motor, obviously), they're not kidding. I beat the bejeezus out of mine. The
only thing that's come loose are a couple of screws that hold the wooden
seat tops onto the metal "boxes" underneath. Otherwise, it's doing fine.
Mine planes nicely with 3 adults aboard, but it's not fast under those
conditions. If I were you, I'd go for the 25hp motor, if you think you'll be
carrying more than 400 lbs or so.

What part of "Period, End of Discussion" didn't you understand? :)
