I've read that people use a syringe to inject epoxy into holes. What type
of syringe is suited for this task, and where can I find one? I suppose
they are cheap enough to just dispose after use? Thanks

How big?

I used a length of clear plastic tube sized to fit in a regular
caulking gun. A rubber tip like a funnel from somewhere fit well. I
think the parts were originally part of an aquarium pump of some
sort. A plasic disk plug wrapped in saran wrap protected the
plunger on the caulking gun.

I mixed up thick goo, plopped it onto on a plastic sheet, rolled it
like a doobie, squeezed the goo into the tube like toothpaste,
pulling out the plastic sheet, put in the plug, and fixed a clear
hose on the end to squeeze the bog into the space between upper and
lower f/g on my side decking while replacing rotton balsa with old
plywood scraps.

Three gallons of epoxy bog!

The kit is still useable, cleaned in acetone promptly. Worked good.

I used plastic bagging like it was paper towel to wipe off gloved
hands, etc. You develop a method that works, after a few messes.
