Yes, we have fitted "auto-speced" P/S pumps to our boats before with no ill
effect.
While I'm sure there are "marine-spec" pumps out there, I wouldn't worry
about it.
Now electrical items such as starters, alternators, distributors, and even
carburetors, should always be "marinized", especially if operated in an
enclosed area, but for the P/S pump...go for it.
