BTW, my primary handheld is a Standard HX460. I don't know how it compares to
the Simrad,
but it is metal, seems rather tough, its submersible, comes with 1100 mAh
battery plus
AC/DC chargers, and it has WX band.

I'm familiar with it. Very tough radio.
