Some time ago that was considering making a “hybrid” for my other which would have been a small Kuboda 2 cyl powering a large cap. DC gen charging batteries which in turn would feed a DC forklift motor. This would turn a foldable prop from a jack shaft. I think it’d be neat but who wants to hear that diesel rattle and choke
everyone. “The Africken’ Queen” would be a good name for it?
I thought about doing something like that with a golf cart motor or
two and a pontoon. It would still end up using a bunch of batteries I
imagine. If you had the right charger you could use one of those quiet
inverter generators to help keep the batteries up but watts is watts
and you will still be depleting the batteries if you are running very
hard.
