Geezus, no sympathy.... ok- On Blakely, the little cove
opposite Armitage Rock 48.35.65 122.41.69. The
Northern-most cove of 3. A little swelly; not too bad, and
the cove has some gnarly rocks scattered here and there,
which are covered at high tide. Pursuers of the spot would
do well to scope these out before anchoring. There is no
room for swing, so a warp to shore is essential.
Yup- Blind Bay on Shaw. Not very many overnighters there on
Sunday evening, and everybody buttoned up by 10PM. We dined
on sumptuous fair SWMBO created in the galley, and stayed up
till 1AM, drinking and watching movies on the 9" TV/VCR. It
was absolutely dead calm. She delighted in the Island
experience, never having been there before.
Spent part of Sunday in Friday Harbor, where she spent a
good amount of time in the women's clothing boutiques(you
know how THAT is). Followed the trail of ice cream cones
back to the source, and partook. (no Rocky Road....).
Heavy fog Monday morning; about 1/2 mile visibility. GPS
sure is handy. Got all the nums for getting up there and
back down.
We repeatedly snagged kelp on the return to Deception
Pass, so much so, I thought I had spun the prop. This
finally cleared up going down Saratoga Passage.
An uneventful recovery and tow home. Shilshole was deserted
as usual on Monday afternoons. In fact, I almost never have
to wait to launch or recover there. Very nice.

Me and SWMBO just got back from a three day cruise to the
San Juan Islands aboard Cruis'n Rulz!. Launched from
Shilshole Marina about 12 pm Saturday. Perfect weather all
weekend. Spent the first night anchored stern to off the
east side of Blakely Island, in a little cove I've been
going to for years.
Sunday night in the Shaw Island cove.
Okay, we've heard plenty of ramp stories. How about expanding the weekend
stuff for us.
East side of Blakely? Near the Indian camp or further south?
Were you in Blind Bay on Shaw? Did you throw a crab pot out? Did you visit
the Nuns at the Ferry dock?
Come on JR, give us something to bathe in other than freezing water at the
ramp!!!
