Default Grand Canyon Rafting Trip Companies Recommendations Requested ?

Hello:

Thinking of signing up for one of those week long rafting
trips thru the Grand Canyon.

Anyone have any experience or opinions with Grand Canyon Expeditions ?

Any other tour outfitters you would suggest ?

Probably more important, any to stay away from ?

Thanks,
Bob

Bob, try asking this question on RBP instead of RBP.whitewater, I bet
you'll get more response there.

Probably true.

WEEK LONG - hmm, this is kind of a gap duration.
It is going to be a motorized trip - which pretty much means that you
are going to be in a larger group on big boats - J Rigs, etc.
8 day motorized should give you a fair amount of time to do side
hikes, etc. Problem is, the number of people that are likely to be
part of the group.

If you can afford the time, the 2 week Dory trips (either through GCEX
or, we went through Grand Canyon Dories) can be a lot of fun. Smaller
groups, quieter trip (rowed, not motor) and interesting folk.

If you can't afford the whole time, but still want to go non-motor,
then there are 1/2 canyon trips, either from Lees Ferry to Phantom
Ranch, or from Phantom Ranch to either Indian Bench or possibly
Diamond Creek.

I did a Dories trip from Phantom to Indian Bench my first time - it
was great.
