NRS and other kayak equipment manufacturers make tow belts but
incorporate Aluminiun Climbing Beeners into the mix. We that play on salt water soon realize Aluminium and The Sea are a bad mix. I have two tow systems purchased in the last 12 months, both with seized beeners after being laeft wet in the car for a couple of weeks. NRC is sending this to their R & D department. My R & D went to a ships chandler and picked up a stainless beener for about 3 quid. Brass is available as is a nylon water sliing clip. These options do not rust, oxidize or seize like the lump of white stuff I just took off my tow system. Does anyone else have this issue: And why are kayaking companies tying this rubish into an otherwise fine product? |
