Default Anyone know about paddling in Spain?

Hello there

I'm new on this group but would like if possible to draw upon your vast
collective experience...

Three years ago I went on holiday to the Ardeche at Easter, mostly climbing
but for one day, myself and a friend managed to hire boats for a tenner
(including wetsuit and minibus pickup) and kayak down the Ardeche gorge.
Fantastic fun.

In a few weeks I'm off to Spain with my girlfriend and am wondering if
there's anywhere near Barcelona where we can do something similar as she's
really keen to try kayaking. i.e. we're after some kind of scenic river no
more than grade 2 which has hire outfits set up for tourists like us!

any advice?

thanks in advance,

I suggest you re-post your query to the messageboard on the UK rivers
guidebook site (http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk) which is where
most of the "vast collective experience" in UK paddling now tends to
congregate on the web. You will almost certainly find some useful and
informative advice from the regulars there.

Sadly the uk.rec.boats.paddle newsgroup has largely fallen into disuse
in the past few years. This is due in the most part to the efforts of
a crazed spammer and the personal attacks metered out to all and
sundry by a couple of bitter uk.r.p.b. contributors. Although the
spammer seems to have moved on, it seems from recent posts that the
libellous duo are still alive and well.

Good luck...

I know not to whom you refer, but 'libellous duo' would seem to me to be a
libellous remark - or do you have any evidence to support your claim?

Perhaps, such comments are the reason why the troublemakers have all left for
the other place... (the troublemakers who meted out the personal attacks,
just like yours above, remember?).

Wrt your inaccurate comment about 'vast collective experience': are you sure
selfish, self-centred individuals claim to find personally useful?

What about the rest of the sport?

Too selfish to consider them?
