Hi,
I just bought a kayak and I live in Port Chester, NY (one town south of Greenwich, CT in the Long Island Sound). I have been trying for the last few days to find a launch site to put the kayak in LI Sound. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks, Christos |

ConnYak (Connecticut Sea Kayakers) has a whole list of Connecticut launching
sites on their web page. Or, if you have a Westchester County pass (I think they may be checking now) you can launch from Glen Island Park in New Rochelle. Fee for car topped boats (kayaks for example) is $4. I'll be going out of there later this a.m. There's also a site on the Hudson in Yonkers in the riverside park that abuts the Hudson River Museum. Fee there is, I think, $5. I scoped it out the other day but haven't taken the yak over to it yet. "Chris" wrote in message om... Thanks Alan! I did some futher research on the web and came across the
Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, NY. I am not sure whether there is a fee for non-residents launching a kayak from there. Also the folks at the Small Boat Shop (http://www.thesmallboatshop.com/) are a good source of information about launching sites. Does anyone know if there is a group of kayakers like Connyak (http://www.connyak.org/) but in Westchester? I would be interested to come in touch with them.
