Default Auction of Hornblower Film Memorabilia

Due to relocation of business premises Heritage Marine Ltd will be
disposing of the contents of their prop warehouse including the entire
collection of 11 model ships, maritime artefacts, props, sets and
costumes used in the making of the Emmy Award Winning television
series "HORNBLOWER" .

Also many other items of wardrobe department equipment, catering
equipment and location support equipment - all previously used in the
TV and Film industry.

Disposal will be by public auction on the 3rd of October 2007.

There are eleven large 18th century square rigged sailing ship models
ranging from 4 metres to 7 metres in length. These models were built
for the Hornblower series in Russia, by Russian shipwrights, under the
supervision of Martin Saville and documented in his book "Hornblower'
s Ships - their history and their models".

They were built as replicas of English and French fighting ships of
the period and are authentic in every detail. Two of the models, one
of 7mtrs and one of 5.5mtrs, are exact replicas of the "Grand Turk", a
120 ft full size 20-gun sailing ship built in Turkey for the
Hornblower series. There are also two 4.5mtr models of the Baltic
Trader "Julia" - also used in the series, plus three 4mtr frigates,
one 5mtr 74-gunner and three 4.5mtr "Fireship" models.

There is a selection of Hornblower Memorabilia including complete
marked up scripts with continuity photos, artistes chairs personalised
clothing worn on and off screen, boxes of continuity photographs.

A large quantity of flattage and other set building items including
stern gallery, deck beams, knees, doors, ship's wheels, capstans,
ship's bell, steps, railings and deck gratings plus large amounts of
rope and rigging sails, spars and maritime items to make up full size
exterior and interior ship's sections.

A selection of full size GRP cannon and supporting equipment as well
as rubber muskets and cutlasses uniform and smaller items of set
dressing, ships lamps deck fittings and smaller items including
collectors items such as Horatio Hornblowers Notebooks and brass
compass, telescope etc all these items are supported by continuity
photos and other supporting provenance There are various other marine
items such as water proofs, galvanised deck fittings rope wire and
instruments plus general wardrobe and catering
equipment, including a portable dance floor, washing machine, dryers
ironing boards, wardrobe rails, stereo equipment.
