Stunning! Can you imagine being crew on those ships, sitting their in the
broiling sun day after day?

I don't have to, I have done it on Tankers

OK on those more modern ones, Air con

I had to do it sometimes on post war (WW2) utility boats, open port
holes and no wind. Mind after a while you go acclimatised.

The only way to cool down was to use the fire hoses and soak the
accommodation.
