Thanks Bouler, this picture was from PAMPUS, the fortress build on a sandbank in the middle of the ijmeer, former ijselmeer. (see the picture included) There is a sayïng in The Netherlands: "voor pampus liggen" means you can do nothing. Ik comes from the time IJselmeer was still Zuiderzee with high and low tide. When the tide was low ships could not enter Amsterdam because they were layïng for Pampus. -- Groeten Bouler (The Netherlands) |
