Thanks for bringing back some memories. Long time ago a was on vacation with my parents, in Split, in former Yugoslavija. Every day these boats would arrive and depart. Always impressive to see! http://www.mangl.at You've got quite a photocollection! Nice work. RtW |

Every day these boats would arrive and depart. Always impressive to see! I took one of these from Korcula to Dubrovnic and also Pula to Venice - both day trips difficult to do any other way. Not just noisy, but smelly too - though not as bad as the French hovercraft. The finest way to see Venice, I think is to arrive by sea. Two Russian Raketa Class hydrofoils also operated on the Thames in London for a while in the mid-seventies. They attempted to run a commuter service from Gravesend to the City and Westminster but it was a commercial flop. |
