Supeyacht Cup 2007
From the Superyacht Cup 2007 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, with ´Scorpione
dei Mare´ and ´Maltese Falcon´ in a port-starboard situation. The bearing showed ´Scorpione´ clear ahead, but a friendly Tom Perkins, owner/helmsman on ´Falcon´ did mention later that a high risk was taken, and we should consider that ´Falcon´, with its 1300 tons, is severely restricted when it comes to close quarter manouvres. For non sailboat racers, the big black boat has right of way because she is on the starboard tack, i.e., the wind is coming over the starboard side of the boat. |
