Yes, they are good photos, you can almost feel the wind and smell the

Those coastal tankers were very popular at one time on the east coast
, but faded away due to their size and union regulations requiring
full crews , which made them unprofitable to operate . They were gone
around here by 1988 , the date of your post .The last one I remember
was run by GETTY OIL out of Delaware City . That one was newer
but was gone by 1980 .
