The Out Island 28 is one of the roomiest-per-foot designs afloat, while
still maintaining respectable sailing performance. She can sleep 6 and
has amazing headroom of 6'2". Topside she delivers an uncluttered deck
and a large cockpit with wheel steering. This design has also proven
itself quite capable in offshore applications. This 1974 example has
not been in use for 3 years and is categorized as a "project boat". She
has solid decks and hull, but is in need of major interior cosmetics
and possibly electrical work. Her inboard diesel engine was running 3
years ago prior to land storage. Her canvas was new 3 years ago, but
installation was not completed. She represents a good opportunity to
the sailor with some time and energy on his/her hands.
