help us out here, dude. Is it realistically priced at maybe $37,000 to $45,000
obo, or is it bargan priced at $18,500, or is it fantasy priced at $87,000?

Ususually, no price mentioned indicates the seller *knows* he is operating on
the fantasy level.

I stand by my statement. no price given is nearly always an absolute
indication the seller thinks he has rare gold.

Either that, or he is some self-centered sumbitch who believes the world is
required to work for his pleasure.

Jax, look, I'm not going to get in a ****ing match with you. I put a link
in my post to save everyone a lot of time and effort. The price is quickly
available by clicking once with your mouse. If that makes me a
self-centered sumbitch you are free to decide, and so is everyone else--like
RB, who was willing to click on the link. You are also free to evaluate
Westsails any way you choose, but the price of the boats is determined by
what people are willing to pay for them, not your arrogant, self-righteous,
arbitrary prattlings--which are far out of line with real transactions. If
you have nothing but sarcasm and invective to contribute here, I'd be happy
if you'd graciously bug off.

hey, yo-yo, you don't seem to understand. Your deliberate effort to hide the
price of your boat was noticed by every last person who read your ad. EVERY
LAST PERSON.

Those who had no interest whatsoever *might* be curious enough to click on your
link. Might. Everyone else with even the slightest genune interest figured --
accurately -- that you want well above market value for your boat. Some, just
some, of those in the second group clicked on your link.

you see, dum-dum, you went out of your way to tell the readers of your ad that
you are more important than they are. That is a stupid fricken mistake never
made by professionals and seldom made by honest men.

you would have been better off, behan, claiming ignorance early on. Instead,
you fully confirmed that the omission was deliberate.

Jax, seriously, what are you on about. His website listed the price clearly.
It's a Westsail, not a Catalina. How does it matter, so long as the price is
clearly listed somewhere, which it is?
It's his boat and all prices are "asking" by definition of the seller wants to
make a sale.

my comment was not that he totally hide the price, but rather that he
deliberately hid it from first glance. This is always some amateur con artist
trying to lurk a sucker into paying over market for under market goods.

A friend of mine is actively considering the purchase of a Westsail 32. He has
asked me to help checked each one he might be interested in, and we have
traveled to see two such boats. The first sold from $18.5k, and was worth
about $12k (about 20 people saw the boat with no offers at all, the buyer
buying sight unseen from 800 miles away). The second went from an asking of
$44k to to $37k to $28k in a matter of a short time before selling (it was
worth $28k to $31k).

From long experience, neither I nor my friend will even consider any boat

offered without a price, for such boats are never fairly priced relative to
market value.
