Help identifying correct part number for trim/tilt relay wiringharness?
should, but close.
Thanks to all who kept me motivated to do this. Chuck (the other one)- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Chuck, I have those at work, let me know if you need a few more... They are Delphi MetriPak 630 terminals as the package shows, but there are several flavors, you need the right one if it's going to lock into the relay socket. Terry |

Hey, Based on my uploaded images, Mercury finally found the right part number for the power trim harness for my 1996 3-cyl, 60hp outboard. It looks like Mercury Quicksilver # 813939A2 is the correct part number for a power trim harness on the early models (pre 1996), and # 84-826802A12 is for 1996 and later. I am still confused though because when I look up part number 813939A2, it is listed for 50/55/60 JET 45 or, Mariner 50 (3 cyl) OG290585 thru OG589999. FYI, my SN plate says: OG330757 so it makes me think I don't actually have a 1996 Bigfoot at all. If anyone reading this can use my engine serial number by itself "OG330757" and tell me what Mercury motor that really is, it might ease my parts-ordering woes in the future. As it stands, something doesn't make sense here. I shouldn't need to be sending them photos to identify the correct parts. Chuck |

Copy and paste from the Mercury web site (for dealers): ENG: 0G330757 1060452SD MERCURY 60 ELPTO/BF Your motor was invoiced to the dealer August 23, 1995 and therefore manufactured prior to that date. That means it could be a 1995 or a 1996 since the model year flip is in July. It was registered as sold April 19, 1996. That being said, Mercury has never held fast to a "year" for their motors, just a serial number range. Many motors have the year stamped on the serial tag, but many more do not. The year is not relevant to the dealer looking up the parts, only the serial number (making it very frustrating for us when someone comes looking for parts without the information we need). Punching in your serial number into my parts program shows only ONE trim harness - part number 813939A2 which leads me to believe whoever looked it up for you originally, erred. I doubt very much the factory would make that error, so I suspect a green parts guy at your dealership did. You were at a bona fide Mercury dealership right? BTW, do you have a Commander 3000 remote control? If so, there's an outstanding recall on it that was never done according to Mercury's records for your motor. Service Bulletin 1996-013 covers it. I assume you're not the original owner (unless your real name is Donald) so it's probably a good idea to have your dealer to a change of ownership so you can be kept abreast of any recalls in the future. Sorry to post something on topic in here - I hope no one beats me up over it. ;-) -- Regards, Dave Brown Brown's Marina Ltd http://brownsmarina.com/ |

That info is what I wanted to see. Yes, it was an authorized dealer but is was a chic who was looking it up for me. I know that sounds chauvinist. What does the "1060452SD" mean??? That recall info on the Commander 3000 sounds like a dangerous failure. I can just imagine trying to throttle down and get into neutral when it fails. Unfortunately, it looks like the part label has fallen off the bottom. I have uploaded images of my remote to see if it looks like a 3000 series? www.musclecarsounds.com/boats/remote_top.jpg and www.musclecarsounds.com/boats/remote_bottom.jpg Chuck |

This latest Tom Selleck film has just wrapped. He seems to like it here and brings lots of yankee dollahs to spread around. http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-cb...,4988305.story |
