Default An extraordinary day tomorrow...

Final thoughts on this one - no more from me.

This is extraordinary - a black American, child of a post-racial
couple raised by white grandparents and a product of the true American
dream versus a true American hero - a man who holds true to his honor
and beliefs is willing to confront his own support and challenge their
assumptions.

And let's not forget the first American woman, a governor, who has a
real shot at holding the second highest office in the land.

Amazing how far we've come in my 62 years on the planet and frankly
I'm glad I'm here to witness this - it confirms my own belief that
America - United States of - has been, is and will be forever, the
premier society ever to grace the surface of Earth.

I will be voting for McCain tomorrow morning because he is an exact
reflection of my own beliefs. I've been privileged to watch Senator
McCain forgive his captors and lead the effort to open dialogue with
our former enemies. That one time alone made me proud of not only my
service, but of our sacrifices as a nation in service to others.

Which is not to say that Obama and his narrative is any less
impressive - it is. I just don't happen to agree with him and his
national and world view. I do respect him and wish him well no matter
how this turns out.

Regardless, we must remember that we have the right to exercise our
choice - something that not all nations and their citizens have. We
are a free society and as a free society we must look to times where
we won't always agree as tests of our own convictions, beliefs and
abilities. Free societies always make the right choices eventually -
free societies always correct the wrongs, mistakes and bad choices
because we have the right to make the choice - it's that simple. We
all work together eventually - it just takes time.

To my friends on the left, good luck. To my friends on the right,
good luck. Let us remember that we are Americans first, last and
foremost. It doesn't matter who wins because the very fact that we
can exercise free choice is victory in and of itself.

The future will take care of itself - it always has, it always will.

Peace. Out.
