Based upon the fact that this isn't the 18th or 19th century, and that any
huge invading army is going to be equipped and organized as a huge
invading army. It's going to be up to our military to protect the
homeland.

Hell, as far as I can tell, there are only a couple of "regulars" in this
newsgroup who regularly practice with firearms.

I don't own one, does not mean I don't know how too. *I have had some
training, and have in earlier years gone hunting.

If I ever had to pick one up to use it to protect life, property or freedom
bet I could beat most Canadians and would at least check the barrel for
being pinned so I wouldn't blow my face off.

Responsible owners should be allowed to keep their firearms. *Take Canada as
proof you can pass any law you like and spend whatever you like but the
criminals still have them. *It's only possible redemption is that it does
deter the irresponsible owner, but leaves the rest without.

Taking guns from responsible people addresses nothing of the problem it is
pandered to solve. *Just lets liberal control freaks control more of your
life.

I haven't seen anything from Obama in his two year campaign that
indicates to me he plans to go after my firearms.

I haven't seen anything in his three years as Senator of my state that
indicated to me he plans to do anything for anybody.

Did you hear his latest one? He claims he bought a motorcycle!!!! I'd
like to see that fat slob on a motorcycle!

According to Harry he's a buff 6'5" or 4 or 3 or 2 or 1. I'll bet he's
around 5'10" with heels or lifts.

I'm an inch or so shorter than your hero, John Herring.
I'll bet you're no taller than a steaming pile of horse****, though.

I'm glad you cleared that up. I was thinking of Harry huddled in a

Your fantasies are pretty graphic. A little on the dark side, though.

Well, I don't have any reason to pay attention to the over-the-top

Harry, the posting had nothing to do with the NRA. It was from the
Illinois State Rifle Association.

And in so you have addressed your thoughts on the "NRA"

hmmmm, *Tell that to King George.

The Illinois State Rifle Association is affiliated with the NRA. It's

King George was a long time ago.

Harry. I cant find a direct link to the NRA from this organization. Cite
a connection if you will.

I found it on the group's web site. Look for it.- Hide quoted text -

I didn't know Harry when I was in the service. I imagine he was off

As a matter of fact, schitt-for-brains, when you were sitting on your

'or so' could equal 2-8 inches. Pudgy fingers though.

Hand eye coordination is paramount in handling semi-auto hand guns -
you've got a good eye and your wrist and hand do what you tell them to
do.

Twitch reflex also has something to do with it - the higher the twitch
reflex, the more accurate your grouping will be.

For me, semi-auto handguns are a PIA - I have two, but I much prefer a
revolver - limited rounds, but I'm much more accurate with a revolver
than a semi-auto.

Back when I carried a Navy 1911 .45 - you didn't want to be near the
practice range when I was around. *:)

Hell, even a city boy like me qualified expert with both the .45 and M1. *I
remember my boot camp M1 score of 243 out of the possible 250. *Won 25 bucks
from Leatherneck magazine for the highest boot camp score during that

Of course you young wipper snappers wouldn't know anything about the M1.

Ammo prices seem to have gone through the roof in the last year or so. I
stocked up at Natcheezss.

Somewhere I saw boxes of 30.06 150 grain for under $14.

Another example of why you should have stayed in school. I never stated
or implied I target shoot a rifle in 30.06. All I stated was that I saw
and noted a price for the rounds.

Idiot.
