Well, I trashed the keyboard on my Apple laptop. Don't ask.
Anyway, I took the poor baby up to the Apple store and voila! While I
waited, they replaced the keyboard with a new one, no charge.

There was no phone cue at the store, everyone there spoke English, and
some really good-looking geekbabes came in to buy ipods and ipod phones
while I was there.
Now, if only I could sell my year-old hotrod desktop windows machine...!

I've got to admit - I'm seriously thinking about Apple and getting a
MAC.

Not sure what kind yet though. I'm kinda leaning towards a laptop.

9/10 of the app I use on a PC aren't available for mac, or just don't
do the job on a mac.

Have you tried a Windows emulator?

The only "app" an idiot like Loogy runs (other than what he uses for
usenet) is Where in the World is Carmen San Diego." The Loogyites ride
the short yellow bus.

That'll teach you to stop squeezing pustules onto the keyboard. Try
wrapping your keyboard with saran wrap.

No one here competes with Florida Jim for "classiness."

Whatever!
Since you hold the title for class-less-ness, any change in your
behavior would be a welcomed improvement. WAFA

They don't sell them to assholes like you, of course.

Why would you want to do that when the real thing is available
faster/better/cheaper ?

My brother-in-law is an art director/ad agency guy who insists that
only an Apple will get the job done for him, and he buys top of the
line equipment. I'm always appalled at how slow his system performs.

It *used* to be that Apple hardware and OS ran certain suites of
graphics production software better than corresponding "windoze"
machines. That differential has for the most part disappeared. There are
still, though, some professional graphics production suites that still
run better or only on Apple machines.

I don't know. I have only one real exposure to it and that was helping a
neighbor install a printer. Maybe when you get used to it it's OK. I can
find no compelling reason to switch from Windows to Mac.

I don't need am emulator, all my machines are Windows and see no reason to
change. I like to assemble my own hardware, except for laptops. Can't do
that with Apples.
