I've been shopping for insurance for the last two hours. Looks like Progressive gets to insure both boats. This one costs as much as the 19.5 CC with the 115 to insure! Can I benefit from a SS prop on a boat like that? I will buy a spare of some sort. Yeah, you'll be better off with an SS prop. You might not notice much in the way of performance, but if you're like me, I'll take my boat where the fish are, if that means darned near beaching it! I really, really like G3's they are built solid. |

I really, really like G3's they are built solid. I remember the PITA it was choosing a SS prop for my 19.5'CC with the 115. I tried a four blade and ended up giving it to a friend with a 125 on his Tracker. Once I break in the 90, if the aluminum prop turns out to be the correct pitch at WOT, do I go up or down for SS? I think the rule of thumb is to drop down in pitch. Does that sound right? It really depends on the boat. Boat I had a few years ago, I used exactly the same prop pitch as the aluminum prop that came on it. Now whether that prop was original or not, I don't know. |
