This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described
Barack Obama's win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a
restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party
presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and
who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch
with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat's primary
battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at
nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed
loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

"It was kind of disgusting," Lucille, who is part Aboriginal, said in
a phone interview after admitting that she is frightened of being
discovered telling folks in the "lower 48" about life near the North
Pole.

I'm sure Mrs. Palin's comments warm the hearts of the Republican base
wherever it is. There's nothing more base than the Republican base.

Harry, I see you feel like this all needed to be cross posted to:
alt.history.british, alt.war.vietnam, sci.military.naval,
soc.history.medieval, us.military.army, rec.boats.

Why is that? I've cut it back to only rec.boats

Y'know, there was a guy who went under various handles, "Ted" was the
one I remember the most. and he used to spread his nazi down with
"anything but white" doctrines in the same fashion So far, Oh, if you
have the notion to remember his email address, you might find some of
his spewings, but all in all, Google groups deoped him, and has no
record of his existence.

If this were a boating forum, I suppose it would make a difference.

It isn't. It's an open forum. I don't read "british," "vietnam,"
"medieval," or "army," and don't consciously post to them. If they're in
the headers of a post I respond to, so be it.

Hey...if you want a boating forum here, go ahead and make it one. But
that would mean no posts about motorcycles, old cars, guitars,
grandkids, golf, campers, and the good old days in uniform, right?

Right?

You are in absolutely no position to be delivering ultimatums. You are as
OT as everyone else .... perhaps even more so.
Many of us have put up with your years and years of political rants, posts
about guns, unions, septic systems, house remodeling, etc., etc., etc.

But most of us do *NOT* purposely start threads and include crossposts to
other, non-related NGs.

I'm impressed by Christians who follow the teachings attributed to
Jesus. Most of the "institutionalization" of Jesus that followed is so
much b.s., and much of that is used to force conformance to beliefs
Jesus never espoused.

There's no doubt in my mind that were he alive today, Jesus would be

I am focused, probably more focused than you are.

You want a "boating" forum, then go ahead and make it one. Recruit the
Reggie slime and get them to behave, to stop slamming everyone, and to
post on-topic.

Go ahead...I'll be glad to see it happen. Really. You're a bright guy,
hell, you went to Amity Regional. Let's see some of that old Woodbridge
leadership.

*You* are *offended* by my cross posting...I get it.

How about those of us who are offended by the snarkiness of Reggie et
al, and the endless off-topic discussions of non-boating topics. Does
that matter to you? Do you ever complain about that?

I can stop what offends you, but you sure as hell cannot get the snarks
to behave here, can you?

Check out Wally's latest posts...he's one of the many who add so much
boating interest to this newsgroup.

I saw it. I don't condone it.

But, he is responding to .... *you*.

Ever question why?

Eisboch

Why he uses foul language and does nothing but post insults to members
here?

If so........why?

He's responding to the bait.

Eisboch

Both sides present the bait in their own way,

Taking it and spitting it out with insults and foul language is not
acceptable though.

I agree.
But, I ain't got no badge, nor want one.

Eisboch

Nor do I.

You are a Pats fan................What is going on with Tom Brady and
his injury?

Unfortunately, the word is, that he's done for the season. It looked pretty
nasty when it happened.

Hey...if you want a boating forum here, go ahead and make it one. But that
would mean no posts about motorcycles, old cars, guitars, grandkids, golf,
campers, and the good old days in uniform, right?

Eisboch

So, you are the self-appointed authority on where the line is, and
when to cross it?

Wow, Jimh!

We go from crass insults one day to suck-up questions the next.

Don't you feel a little 'obvious'?

Seems to me my comment (above) was a statement of fact, not an exercise of
attempted authority.

No, Salty. He's come to realize just how insidious HK can be.

This newsgroup is full of authoritarian Republicans who want everyone to
behave as they say, but not as they do. If they want to post off-topic
ad nauseum, why, that's just fine.

They also act as if this actually were a boating discussion newsgroup.
It is not. And when the overwhelming majority of posts here have nothing
to do with boats and the overwhelming majority of posters here have
nothing to do with boats, I find it humorous that anyone would bring up
"non-related" newsgroups.

This joint *needs* some fresh blood and is crying out for a massive
transfusion.

We've got to get a professional therapist in here.
One minute Johnny is preaching to his troops (ordering) to stop replying to
Harry, and 5 minutes later is doing his best to provoke JimH.
Do any of the more rational posters in here see anything silly about this
behaviour?

The military contracts out for mental health services for servicemen and
vets. Nothing but the lowest price bidders.
