Long story short - I reenlisted because there were instructor's slots
open. That disappeared due to budget cutbacks, so I was seconded to a
reserve unit which shared responsibility for ROTC training - it was a
two year slot (which worked out fine because I would have been riffed
anyway).
I literally had nothing to do other than scream at cadets, so I
decided the best course was to actually go to college - which was
free.

heaven. I loved the small restaurants in and around the bayou. Did you
ever make it to Lafayette? That is the capital for all Coonass's.
Really nice place.
