Yes, I've had a few adventures with that when single handing the boat. My favorite evolving strategy is to attach a long line at the bow and run it aft; pick up the mooring either aft or mid-ships; run the bow line through the mooring pennant and cleat it off. After the boat settles back into the wind you can shorten up the bow line. The boat we have now has a pass-through that you can lower, allowing passage from the bridge to the forward deck. In normal weather conditions, it would be fine, but if it's blowing and rough it might be a bit difficult. The inflatable sits on the forward deck cradle also, so I'd have to work my way around it. Think I'll stay in the slip. Eisboch |

For the record, I believe Chuck started his discussion board with the best of intentions, and put a lot of work into it, and then it got slimed by you, Reggie, and the rest of the non-boaters with your complaints, whines, and insults about everyone else's boating activities. You can tell by the post count at Chuck's message board these days that Tom is doing about as good a job of moderator there as Brownie did handling the New Orleans mess. Whatever his talents are, moderating ain't among them. I post quite a bit on The Hull Truth. I usually but not always use a nickname there (and on other forums) I was given a long, long time ago by one of my best friends from my old "newspapering" days. Gee, I had no idea Reggie spent his days stalking me. I do have a carry permit...perhaps I should take advantage of it, eh? |

Of course. Good grief. You are becoming more annoying than a bunch of no-see-ums on a hot, humid, windless evening. Eisboch Ever notice that nobody except Saltine is trying real hard to impress Hairy? Did you forget Donnie, Jimh and the new guy Harry drug over here - w3fg or some such ****? BTW, the pics of the camping trip are at Chuck's place. Pictures of a camping trip? Christ. What's next..photos of your trip over to Safeway? or even worse, photos of his cat sleeping on a printer with a walmart coupon. Harry gets ****ed because he knows I actually took the pictures. I didn't see any owls down by the creek though. And, he's got me filtered. You do know he reads every post, right? My comment was in jest. Every comment you make is in jest. It's your job, as the court fool. |

Sounds very bovine-ardly of you. ;) [Note, had to change a word to get by a filter.] I think he has a point there, Harry. You call folks 'bovine-ardly pussies' for using nicknames, yet you do so. Wouldn't that be somewhat hypocritical? I assume by 'Brownie' you're referring to Nagin. Not very politic of you, somewhat racist, but the result on New Orleans is right on the mark. Your buddies down there have 'foched it up' royally. |
