At the time, I was glad I didn't call anyone who enlisted in the service a brain dead reject who could not make it in the real world and had to suck on the public teat of the military service, as Harry has said many times. I guess based upon Harry's standards, your son is not qualified to dig ditches and could not get a job to dig ditches in the real world and now has to suck on the governmental teat. I am glad you have gotten over whining over real and imaginary insults. Get help. Amazing, ain't he? Reggie the low-life coward. Today you seem to have a 'coward' or 'pussy' hangup. Why is that? Jimmie, or Donnie, can you help explain this. Both Reggie and I are being called these names. hmmmm........... he has an astute understanding of human nature?? Ask him. |

Did you now he was subject to recall at any time by the US Army until he reached hist 62nd birthday? Say what? You could have knocked me over with a feather.... a man who attained that rank... leading men during wartime..yet acting like he does here? God help America! It's not a big deal. Lieutenant colonel is the rank at which most officers retire. If you are an officer and stay in the army long enough, 15 or 20 years, you'll make that rank as a minimum. A friend from the 1980s, much younger than me, made the Army his career. He's a major general and in Iraq right now, finishing up his last four months before returning stateside, with a couple of months at that time until retirement. I don't recall his exact age, except that he's in his 50's. Oh, and unlike Herring, my friend is an officer and a gentlemen. Herring is a horse's ass. -- No way, no how, no McCain! |

I haven't read one reason why he is "deserving" of any serious amount of respect. He's a snarky a$$hole here and did his best to disrupt the other place. Wow. Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. Big whoop. I met a captain in the local fire department at a fundraiser last year. *He* is deserving of respect, because he runs into burning buildings to bring people out. -- No way, no how, no McCain!- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Damn what a low life piece of **** you are, Harry. |

"don't call me sir...I work for a living". A friend of mine was a Staff Sargent in the USMC and was looking at going into the MECEP program, 4 years of college and a commission, or getting promoted to Gunnery Sargent. He thought long and hard about it and decided that it would be better to retire as an officer than enlisted due to the large bump in pay. This same guy was on the Major's promotion list and was told that he could get his promotion to Major but he had to take an 1 year unaccompanied tour overseas and extend 18 months past 20 years. He told them he would rather retire as a Captain at 20 years. |
