Used 1996 seadoo speedster twins 180hp
"P" wrote in message ... What are the gotcha's with this type of boat? Thinking about buying this '96 bombardier jetboat, twin rotax engines, guy wants $6450, boat looks nice. There no traditional transome issues, what do I need to watch out for with this kind of boat? Compressions test? See how much of a home equity loan you can get. You will need it for the fuel bill. Rotax's are gas hogs and twins are really bad from what I hear. |

looks nice. There no traditional transom issues, what do I need to watch out for with this kind of boat? The problems are; - gas hog - old, perhaps had the crap beaten out of it - potential motor problems - seemly Richard has an unusual boat #1 gas hog - this just sounds like a sure thing, not much to check. I like the two engine thing though - I'd be using on Lake Ontario (calm days only) & it would be nice to be able to get home if one quit. #2 old, perhaps ragged. How can I tell? I plan to take it to a mechanic & have him do a engine & water test - would they be able to tell? Anything specific to ask the mechanic other then "is it toast"? #3 potential motor problems - again - would the mechanic be able to tell? Its seems the main issues here are with the motor(s). Since the boat itself is all fibreglass (is it??) |
