My wife and I took home 4 ribbons last night's photo competition.

There were about about 75 B&W, 100 color print and digital photos
submitted for the 3 different categories. *You are allowed to submit up
to 2 photos for B&W and Color and one photo for the Digital Submission.
* I was blown away that we took home one Honorable Mention, one 4th
place, one 3rd place and a 2nd Place.

2nd place

I touched this up some after the comments made in rec.boats. *I do
appreciate your help.

4th Place *I almost didn't submit this one, I thought there would be a
ton of similar photos.

A photo, I really liked, but it did not ribbon. *The pro thought it
would be a much better photo if the girl was interacting with the
penguin. *I thought her shy look made the photo.

An ordinary flower and bee photo that my wife said I should submit. * No
ribbon.

Nice Job.. Maybe I should consider entering a couple of mine.. I have
a gorilla too.

But here is my fav..

and another...

This was an interesting shot from my point of view. There is actually
a cage in front of the bird here. What I did was focus on the bird and
slide the camera in an arc around it so it was moving when I took the
shot which washed out the screen enough that it looks like it's not
there...

Not thinking I am as good as you guys, but still, animals are cool to
shoot... Nice job and don't worry about wafa and the other jelous
idiots..

My favorite was the expression and pose of the chimp. That cocky SOB.

If you want to get into some online photo competition, this is a great
web site.

I am not really into taking animal photos, so it was hard for me to get
excited about this competition, and it was my first ribbons, so what can
I say.

I prefer humans, capturing emotions and character, but they specifically
said it could not be humans.
