Looks like about 3" of "freeboard" at the stern...or is that an optical
illusion? And that transom motor well...I overestimated its capacity. :)

Well, look at it this way.

It doesn't have a freakin' hole where the motor is. :)

You need to look at the photo again, but this time put on your glasses.
There is definitely an optical illusion, see if you can figure it out.

Maybe 4" of freeboard at the stern between the top of the motor transom
and the water level, and a small motor well. In any sort of following
sea, you'll get pooped, the water will rush over the motor well, fill
it, and pour into the cockpit.

Very nice looking when the sun rises also.

Tokoyo raid.

More later as soon as I can get them processed.

Dammit, I was hoping to see some very artistic beautiful pictures of
an old clapped out barn and some corn.

An interesting note, years ago, when I flew into the Columbia airport,
they still had the original runaway and hanger used by Doolittle during
his training exercise. They kept the lines painted on the runaway that
the pilots used to represent the length they had on the carrier. If
they didn't lift off before they hit the line, they knew they just
landed in the ocean.

It's still there at the original airport - including an intact B-25.

I actually meet someone who was on Doolittle's Raid. After the war, he
started a wholesale distributor to service the textile industry in SC.
On his office wall he had all the photos of his plane, his squadron and
Doolittle. While he had that little memorial to his squadron, I was
told he didn't like to talk about it, so i didn't ask any questions.

Tom, the atmosphere at Chuck's Island is totally changed. You might give it
a shot.

It's a little more than four inches - I just went outand measured it
(something I've never done oddly) - it's twenty one inches from the
water line to the top of the live well.

I've actually taken waves over the stern, but the interesting thing is
that the boat floats like a freakin' cork and drains very quickly.

I'm sure it does, just as mine does.

Keep telling yourself that.
