While I would prefer McCain to be our next president. Since the odds are Obama will win in November. I certainly hope you are correct. The last thing we need is another brain dead president. Interesting you should say this. While I'm tending towards Obama, my decision hasn't been made. One of my concerns is McCain's brain power. I've noticed on several occasions, his aides feeding him lines. So far, it could just be campaign fatigue, but it is something to keep an eye on. |

I really don't know many people who could put up with the rigors of the presidential campaign. Agreed, and with all the abuse, the scrutinizing, you wonder why they would want to, but they did make the choice. |

I am a believer that, just like a company, the president need not be an Einstein. He/she simply has has to *know* that they aren't an Einstein and surround themselves with a good, talented and smart staff that believe in the overall principles/ideals that the he/she (the President) subscribes to. Harry .... read carefully what I wrote before you jump the gun. Eisboch |

I wouldn't disagree with that to a point. They don't have to be close to an Einstein, but a basic competency would go a long, long, way. Arrogant and stupid is not the right package, as the past 8 years has shown. I'm not saying McCain is either, but I am suspicious, just suspicious, that his best years are behind him. |

Eisboch He sure as hell looked and sounded like a President during the speech he just gave in Berlin, even when he said, "My father grew up herding goats in Kenya." Obama is no Einstein, and I agree that level of IQ is not necessary, but you don't want a blooming idiot whose mind shows the impact of booze and drugs in the White House, and that's what we have now. Obama is presidential. John McCain is a Bush retread. |

What is starting to bother me about Obama when I listen to him respond to some tough, "touchy" questions, is how he hems and haws a bit ... gets a little tongue-tied .... while searching his mind for the politically correct response. Seems to me, ideals, values, plans, beliefs, etc. should be second nature and on the tip of your tongue. He thinks too much and I am not sure it's for the right reasons. Eisboch |
