I'm going to look at a Mercrusier 3.0 (4 cyl) tomorrow that has a carb that is losing the float bowl fuel when the engine is shut down. This usually meant replacing the carb with cars I've worked on in the past but a rebuilt is $400 and may not be easy to get. Has anyone had any luck repairing this problem - trying to reseal casting plugs etc.? Thanks for any help Larry I've read that a leaking, or poor Needle Valve can cause a carb to drop its fuel when sitting. The same culprit can also cause " loading ' or over supply of fuel when idling. Casting Plugs usually come with a re-build kit. I am talking about Walsh Plug caps. |
