Hello Everyone,

I have had some inquiries about how things are going so thought I
would send an update. *I have been having radiation treatments
Mon-Friday at 8AM in Effingham which means I am up by 6, leave by 7 to
be there by 8. *Those of you that know me well, know that 6 is really
early for me and I don't do early well under the best of
circumstances.....but it has meant that I can get back for work
usually by 9:30.

The radiation has been tough but the bright side is that I haven't had
the degree of nausea that I had with the chemo. *The down side is that
my face and neck are swollen, my throat is sore and as of tonight I
have just about lost my voice. *All temporary symptoms that should go
away after the radiation is complete (which if as scheduled, my last
radiation treatment should be August 1). *Then the only thing left
will be the clinical trial treatment in Decatur....dates to yet be
determined.

Honestly, the past couple of weeks have been tough. *My usual pattern
of handling the heart of a crisis well and when I see an end in sight,
I crumble seems to be true through this life changing event, too.
However, God continues to lead me and encourage me through a variety
of people and circumstances. * One of my devotions this week
particularly hit the nail on the head. *I have copied it below from a
daily devotional written by Sarah Young called Jesus Calling :

I want you to experience the riches of your salvation: *the joy of
being loved constantly and unconditionally. *You make a practice of
judging yourself, based on how you look or behave or feel. *If you
like what you see in the mirror, you feel a bit more worthy of My
Love. *When things are going smoothly and your performance seems
adequate, you find it easier to believe you are My beloved child. When
you feel discouraged, you tend to look inward so you can correct
whatever is wrong.

Instead of trying to "fix" yourself, fix your gaze on Me, the Lover of
your soul. *Rather than using your energy to judge yourself, redirect
it to praising Me. *Remember that I see you clothed in My
righteousness, radiant in My perfect Love. *Ephesians 2:7-8; *Hebrews
3:2; Psalm 34:5

I love you all and thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement.

Bridget

Please extend my best wishes to Bridget and let her know she remains
in my prayers.

Tim, your wife is a model for others going through the same sort of
hell. When I pray, which is not very often, I think of you and her. I
hope she has a good recovery. She is one classy lady.
