I hate to say it, but . . . I've noticed on several occasions McCain's
aides having to feed him lines, on subjects that I thought he should be
well-versed in. So far, I've put it down to fatigue from the campaign
grind, but it is something to keep an eye on. I have tremendous respect
for the man, but, it is possible that his time has past.

He's a decent fellow, certainly heads and shoulders better than the rest
of the Republicans seeking the nomination this year, but I also believe
time has passed him by. He was the best candidate of either party in
2000, but he's doddering now, he repeats himself several times in the
same speech, he seems to be disconnected from the trials and
tribulations of middle-class Americans and, of course, he's turned into
a Bush butt sniffer. *That* is what is going to do him him. We have
serious problems in this country, and Bush has only contributed to
making them worse.
