I have a chalky film on my boat and is rather dull in spots. Could anyone
suggest a good product to use to restore the shine? |

Purchase a good power buffer, not the cheap ones but something like a Porter Cable orbital buffer with plenty of power. 2. Wash the boat. 3. Polish the boat with 3M Finesse It 2, using your power buffer. 4. Apply a good wax, such as Collinite Fleet Wax (paste). You should end up with fantastic results. |

One responder suggested Finesse It II. While that's a fine product for light oxidation, there are many products that'd be more appropriate for more oxidized surfaces. A more aggressive compounding agent may be a better first course if it's really chalky. Finesse It II may work well as a polishing agent once the compounding has been done. Again, depending on your boat make, year, color, etc. there are numerous products that'll work for waxing. Give us a little more detail and you'll get appropriate suggestions. jps |

I found 3M's Fiberglass Restorer to be way better than anything else.
Light compound with wax all in one step. Does an outstanding job on oxidation, marks, most anything and waxes as well. With a power buffer it is not that hard a job. |
