Edson makes some nice wheels, with and without the knob. I'm going to
install the Edson knob I have and give it a whirl. I forgot I had one;
bought it at a fishing/boating gear sale last year at one of the local
firehouses.

At what position on the wheel do you installed it? This should bring about
as many opinions as there are degrees in a circle.

The instruction sheet sez between 1 and 2 o'clock if you are a righty,
and 10 and 11 o'clock if you are a lefty. I am, of course, a lefty. :)

So you and JohnH are both lefties. Figures.

I don't know what the instruction sheet says. I am right handed and like to
have it free to mess with the sounder, gps, radio, drinks, etc. and
therefore use my left hand to hold the wheel. The wheel, on my boat, is on
the port side of the console, so using the left hand comes naturally.
