Casady Back before blended grades of oil, some oil had more paraffin in it than others. Pennsylvania crude had quite a bit of paraffin in it naturally. My uncle, an aviation machinist, knew alot about old technology oil. |

The scam at the Toyota dealer's is to 'suggest' that every auto be serviced every 3000 instead of 5000 miles, regardless of usage. And then they have about $25 worth of 'extra dealer items', such as 'friction proofer' and other additives that are routinely added, unless they're told up front not to do it. I'm very careful to tell them I want the 'book' service when I go in. I give up. What the hell is friction proofer? |

Yeah! That stuff! Last week my wife took her Highlander in. I looked at the bill, and she paid for all the extra ****, even though I'd told her to tell them exactly what the book said. When I asked her about it, she said, "Well, Elliot said I should do it." I almost told her to go marry Elliot. -- John *H* |

Last check at the local gas station showed me that that they're damn near close to that for diesel *oil* right now. Pricing for grading on my projects has skyrocketed due to diesel costs. --Mike "Larry" wrote in message ... DK wrote in : I give up. Sure glad all my diesels, 2 Mercedes cars and a Chevy 6.2L diesel stepvan run on used frying oil from Chinese restaurants.... I also have a Chinese 1 cyl diesel genset that runs fine on a mixture of twenty gallons of vegoil mixed with a quart of mineral spirits. That's the mixture I'm running in the unmodified cars. |

Well, it was really a joke. Diesel has gotten so high that it sure seems like 500/gal! --Mike "Richard Casady" wrote in message ... He had that "for sale look" on his face..... Hope he wasn't a doctor. I don't wanna see his patients suffer more than usual..... A 40 something footer with a thousand gallon tank. Gee Larry, I don't think so. Maybe he filled his freshwater and blackwater tanks and the bilge, too. I'll bet that boat has one hell of a range! |
