My boat is yellow

A few weeks ago, I finished washing and applying two coats of Zaino Bros
polish on my boat. Yesterday, I stopped by to drop off some equipment I
carried home over the winter. The boat was YELLOW from pine pollen.

Anyone who has lived through a Georgia Pine Pollen outburst, knows what
I am talking about, for those who haven't, imagine someone throwing
yellow stain all over everything.

The worst part is you can actually see the trees burst in a large cloud
of pine tree sperm ( I meant to say pollen) when they orgasm (I meant to
say release) the pollen.

Yes, I go through this every year here in Florida. It effects everything
I own that is outdoors. I wait until the trees are done, then I just
lightly pressure wash it all away. Hard rain for the most part gets rid
of most of it. Simple Green soap does the rest.

Thursday the pollen count in the area was above 1000, and that's a
freakin' lot! Rain yesterday and today is doing good things for the
pollen and the lake. I was going to uncover my pool today, though. The
cover looks nice though with it's 6 inches of pollen mud !!

I don't cover my pool so that becomes sludge in the filter- Hide quoted text -

Every fall I ponder whether or not to cover my pool. The only thing
that keeps me covering it is the fall leaves.

I have a black truck and my wife has a black car - although we don't
have much problem with them turning yellow YET, we fight the losing
battle of pollen every spring also. The car cover for her helps a
little bit, but that stuff is so fine that some of the dust still gets
through the breathable cover. Spring is a beautiful season but it
sure makes a mess of things.

Everything here is yellow... even puddles after a rain.

When my wife managed a bank at the airport, she had a LOT of travelers
asking what the yellow powder all over everything was. They were
thinking toxic waste rather that amorous foliage....

Well if you want to look on the positive side, as least it is not as
obnoxious as "Love Bugs". I was in Orlando when they swarmed and that
was nasty.
