....anything *here* , knowing the naysayers are just waiting to pounce,
but... I just helped a friend buy and set up an external hard drive as a backup unit for his laptop. It's a LaCie D2 Quadra, 320 gigs. Nothing unusual there, but...the Quadra refers to the four ways of hooking it up to a computer: USB2, Firewire 400, Fireware 800, and, fastest of all, SATA. It's a very nice unit, in an aluminum case, and comes with Retrospect software for a Mac or a PC. The unit was $180, but MicroCenter, a national storefront chain with internet ordering, too, has it at $129.
