Of course the dealer can't do that. ![]() It's still a minor consideration. Its about $1000. If I pay for taxes on the $14500 boat from the dealer I'm paying $1123 in sales tax. If I buy the $11,000 boat from the individual and we report it as $1500 to the state I'll pay $116.
