Ship fire off Port Canaveral

On 157.075, "US Coast Guard Station Ponce Inlet" is in comms with
Vessel "Fishhook" that has a fire. CG is advising the captain of the
vessel to have people move as far as possible from the fire. He
informs that a CG Cutter is en route to the stricken vessel.

The Coast Guard is asking what sort of clothes the persons on the
vessel are wearing and is trying to get a cell phone number from
someone on the vessel to improve communications.

The troubled vessel is now Southeast of Palm Coast Marina and is
drifting to the Southwest.

CG Sta Ponce Inlet comms with the vessel, with other vessels and with
a concerned bridge tender are continuing on 157.075.

Now the CG Sta informs that the persons aboard the vessel are
abandoning the vessel and making their way to a sand bar. Two females
are clothed in red towels, one of the men is wearing blue.
Makes you wonder if this is a joy ride some politician was taking with
some ladies of the night.

God, that would create such a flotilla of bassboats full of drunken bubbas
in SC the CG wouldn't get anywhere near the girls to get their look.....(c;

There may be some underway from here, already! I heard 4 boat roaring down
the river in the dark not 15 minutes ago!

News travels fast on VHF...(c;

Breaking news - A two seat Cessna single engine airplane crashed into a
cemetery in Western Poland this afternoon. Twenty four bodies have been
recovered, so far, and digging goes on through the night to find more. No
more survivors have been found as of this report, except the pilot and one
passenger. They were treated and released as more crews with heavy
equipment were summoned.

Be careful there, fella: you might be fined for putting up a post here
with boating-related content.

That's actually part of a Fire Service training video - how not to set
a training fire. :)

Also part of that video was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
A volunteer fire department was having a smoke drill in an abandoned
house, only they over did it with the smoke - there was a spark and
the house blew up. Only you couldn't see it because of all the smoke.

The guys getting ready to do the entry for search and rescue were kind
of stunned - when the smoke cleared, no house - just this pile of
junk. When you slow mo the video, you can see where the house
expanded, then just imploded.

It suffers from the telling, but it was incredibly funny to watch.

Well, I'm sure the evidence didn't last long.
