It was 40+ years ago - a whole different lifetime.

I'm not defending Harry, but get a freakin' life.

Nobody cares anymore.

I got out of the service almost 20 years ago. Yet Harry receives no flak
for his derogatory comments about same, whether mine or anyone else's.

Because it doesn't matter what Harry thinks.

It's as simple as that.

You served honorably, went above and beyond the call making it a
career and rose to Staff command level.

Why should you care what he thinks? He can make all the idiotic
comments he wants - he has no clue what you had to sacrifice or the
effort made to achieve your Staff level rank.

The only way that achievement can be taken away from you is for you to
take it away from yourself. If you react to his taunts, then he wins
and you look foolish.

I was just a grunt - dumbass Marine, but I would think that an officer
and a gentleman would understand when he's being played and just
ignore it.

Then again, maybe not.

Share the wealth, Tom.

I just did.

You're a great American, Tom.

Dyslexia, isn't that what you said you had.. I still remember the day
on the water when I was driving the Ranger. Kind of funny, I can't
see, and SW has dyslexia. So here I am looking at the green marker and
Tom is saying "go left" "go left" and I knew that although I couldn't
see much, I could see that there was nothing but beach and rocks left,
so I went right anyway.. Quite frankly, I don't know if you even
noticed, I suppose it was because I actually went the way you
meant... It was feaky to say the least;)

Sure, I need to get out. I am getting itchy to get that sailboat too.
I kinda' torqued the guy with my impatience, but he sent me a picture
of a 10 foot snowbank in front of it and told me to slow down a
little.;)

For anyone interested, and I am truly sorry for turning this conv. to
boats;) I landed an almost complete Vactioneer from StevProj.com that
I hope to finish up and play with over the summer..
Here is a link to the Weekender, and the Vacationeer. I bought plans
for Weekender years ago but never started, looks like a fun boat which
could easily be fitted with a tiller engine too...

Were you looking at the weekender, or the vacationeer which has room
to sleep three, a sink and table etc... ? The boat I am getting is the
vacationeer. Granted, the "weekender" is more of a daysailer in my
opinion.. Either way, my kids want to sail, so a sailing we will go;)

Sure does look like the little Skipjack weekender sailboat I started to
build in the late '80s.
Mine may have been a couple feet shorter.
This one is closer to my Sandpiper 565...although my boat was a foot wider
at the beam.

The vacationeer is further down the page... I should have noted that..
Check it out. 20 feet long, 8 feet wide. There are some pics in the
collage on the front page, There are not nearly as many pics of it, as
the weekender...

Same designer as the skipjack.. Although the old fellow passed, and
his kids were going to let it go, popular demand led them to continue
the business..
