When it was fully eclipsed, it was just a reddish hued orb in the sky. At my house it was through the branches of the trees. I wished I had set my tripod up and took pics.! |

People come to Florida "to get away from it all", then they want to bring it all here. Never had any "crime" problems in all the years I've been visiting south Florida. Don't spend a lot of time "driving around" when I am there. I do love the beaches, the multi-cultural atmosphere, the art galleries, the other cultural venues, the fishing, the fabulous restaurants and the shopping between Boca and Miami Beach. When I was a kid, my auntie owned a row of condos on Ft. Lauderdale beach. I remember hunkering down one time looking out the bottom floor windows at an incoming storm and saw my first waterspout, and after the Portugese man o war jelly fish on the beach. Anyway, about 10 years later she sold the property as it was no longer an area really suited for older folks and families. I still wish my dad had picked up that little place on Pine Island, that was sweet... |
