You are right in that conditions can change from day-to-day on Rivers. I've run the CT river in the morning and by mid-afternoon, it's all different. *Of course the CT is a tidal flow river, but still. I would suggest, being inland, of calling the local Corps of Engineers office and see if they have charts of the river. *You might also want to visit a local sports store like Bass Pro, Cabela's or even Wal-Mart - they might have pre-printed charts with the major problem areas highlighted.
