Atlanta sucks so bad, if a plane I have to take has a stopover there, I
pick a different flight.

I will watch the game and commercials - which in the past
few
years
haven't been as funny as previous years.
I once got into a heated discussion about this ad being the
best
Budweiser ad ever.

The agrument went on for four weeks and the thread
eventually
ended up
with around 10,000 posts.
It'll be a great night for a movie.
Cinderella or Snow White might be to your liking.
Shouldn't you be patrolling your 'hood for "wetbacks" on the
loose?
I wouldn't know a wet back if I saw one. And I haven't been on
any
sort of patrol since my military days.
Harry, when you go out on patrol, do you keep your revolvers
locked
and cocked?
Oh. You just like to refer to certain people as "wetbacks." I get
it.
I don't patrol. I leave that to the local sheriff.
Hmmm. How would I "lock and load" a revolver? You must have been
one
hell of a soldier.
You never get much of anything right.
Please explain how *you* lock and load the typical revolver,
soldier
boy.- Hide quoted text -

Start a "I know more than you about guns" thread... OH, and before
you
do read his "origional" post to which you keep refering to, you will
note that he never, ever, ever, said, "lock and load", LTP boy....
This thread is about football, and we all know you will be
watching...

You're welcome to drive down here and meet me at a local movie
theater,
and observe me not watching the Stupor Bowl.

Oh...how do you lock and cock a revolver. I understand the latter, but
lock?- Hide quoted text -

If you'd buy some books, you could stay home and read.

See - learn something new every day.

I always heard the term as lock and load - never made sense, but then
most phrases in common usage don't make sense over the long haul.

I just looked it up - turns out it's actually the reverse - load and
lock and comes from using a M1 carbine. Which I trained on before the
M16, but I never head it that way.

And having some time to kill before Scott gets here, I looked it up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_and_load

Actually it's very simple. Since Harry has spit out the hook I'll explain.
Locked, as in the cylinder locking in front of the barrel during the
process
of cocking a single action revolver, or a DASA revolver.

I understood it the first time.

I was just pointing out how the terms devolved - or evolved.

Take your pick. :)

I always thought it originated in the Flint Lock and wheel lock eras.

Actually there are a few idiots who don't use lemon in their wheat beer,
but they have a tendency to vote for people like Billary.

from Beer Advocate

The Lemon Conspiracy
This is one of those subjects that there's absolutely no gray area. The
lines have been drawn and the sides are clearly against each other in
the clouded world of wheat beers.

It's all about lemon, or no lemon.

On one side, we have beer drinkers that run in the same group as those
people who put salt on their $20 porterhouse steak before they even
taste it. A lemon in their wheat beer is a must. Even worse, some go too
far and request a slice of lemon in their Belgian White Ale! The Horror!
We are not telling you to take sides, but don't cry when your beer has
no head ... you can blame it on the lemon wedge and its acidity.

On the other side are people who appreciate beer straight up. They lust
after that unique yeast flavor that would otherwise be destroyed by a
sharp wedge of lemon.

Is there a right or wrong? Who knows? It's very subjective. So whatever
your fancy may be, wheat beers offer a broad range of characteristics as
the perfect summer brew, or a brew to enjoy all year round (no lemon
please). Skoal!

Reggie, Anchor doesn't make an IPA. There is an Anchor Liberty Ale
that's quite good, though and close to an American Pale Ale. I like
Sierra Nevada IPA, and also their Wheat Beer is very good.

While they don't call it an IPA Anchor Liberty Ale really is an IPA

No lemon needed with Sierra Nevada Wheat. Try it, you'll like it. No,
Liberty Ale isn't an IPA. It isn't even an American Pale Ale, but it's
closer to American than anything. It IS a very good beer, none the
less. Because of it's hybrid style, Beer Advocate calls it an APA.

I like making it much more than drinking it. Did not even have one at
the Stupor Bowl... I give a lot away.. just fun to make. Makes
for very tolerant neighbors when you bring them a six here and there
too;)
