BTW2: LCD is the better choice in rooms with a lot of light. The Sony
that Wayne purchased (and I will be purchasing) was rated #1 and equal to
the many Plasmas in terms of picture quality.

Agreed. But, I saved money buying the Samsung, about $400.

We just bought (another) HD TV. This one is a 46" Samsung LCD. As I've
mentioned before, we also have two 42" plasmas and a 50" plasma. All are
also Samsungs. These are in addition to several smaller LCD sets from
various manufacturers.

I just finished hooking up and calibrating the new 46" LCD. It's connected
to cable HD, a regular DVD player and a Blu-Ray player. My impressions are
that it looks very, very good, especially after a few adjustments, but the
plasmas still have a richer, deeper color presentation, including the 50".
If all you watched was the LCD, it would be very satisfying and there would
be no need to expect more. It's only nerds like me that has to go compare
them, but the difference is obvious. The plasmas still are a bit better.
This analogy is not exactly representative, but the LCD display is like a
rich water color painting whereas the plasma is oil.

I just do as I am told. The "bar" room has become the girl's night out
hanging spot. I had to get the jukebox working, install the new TV,
interface everything through the room's sound system, hook up a Karaoke
system, install a sound (music) actuated, multi-colored LED "light show"
system and fix the refrigerator's thermostat.

Can't wait until spring when the boat gets launched. BTW .... the
Navigator will soon be a joy of the past.
Closing is next week. I have to go down to the marina with a bunch of boxes
and clean out all my "stuff".

Don't be modest now. Tell him about the motorized large screen TV that hides
in the ceiling till you want to use it. Would be tough to move it around the
house though.
