Ah yes - the prognostication of the varioius groundhogs around the
world.

Connecticut has it's own version of Punxsutawney Phil, Chuckles the
Groundhog.

Chuckle's prognostications follow the same format as Punxsutawney Phil
- sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If
he does not see his shadow, there will be an early Spring.

And Connecticut, the Steady State, land of Nutmeg, The Charter Oak,
liberal yet oddly conservative, will always have an early Spring.

Chuckles is blind. *:)

Atlanta has General Beauregard Lee.

Living in the Great North West, how will you tell if it's Spring?

It's not any different than January the way I hear it. :)

Nicer weather during the Winter time. Gets cold in the summer. Thats how
you tell the difference. As mark Twain stated: "Goldest winter he ever
spent was a summer in San Francisco.".

Instead of high temps in the 40's and lows in the mid 30's, we get
high temps in the 50's and lows in the mid 40's. Still rains everyday,
of course. During late spring early summer we typically see high temps
in the 60's, lows about 50, and during peak summer high temps will
reach the mid to upper 70's (sometimes low 80's) with lows about 60.
We have one or two heat waves each year where highs get into the 90's,
but as soon as the mercury climbs past about 85 all the natives (like
myself) start bitching about the oppressive conditions. :-)

And it rains here. Everyday.
